It's almost a quarter of 2014, are you desperately looking for a short break to freshen up yourself, clear up your congested mind due to the heavy daily work load, and a 'little longer' and relaxing city runaway weekend?
Back to nature then, as nothing is more relaxing than lying down idly at the beachside, enjoying the magnificent sea view while the sun is setting down, and basically doing nothing!
Pulau Pangkor is an excellent pick :)
Let's take a look at the brief introduction:
Pulau Pangkor, meaning 'beautiful island'
is an island off the coast of Perak in north-west peninsular Malaysia,
reached by ferry in around 35 mins either from the old jetty or from Marina
Island jetty both located in Lumut
(a small coastal town that links to Ipoh through Setiawan). It is located on the west coast of the Malaysian
Peninsular, halfway in between Penang and Kuala Lumpur.
It has a land area of only 8 square kilometers, and a
population of approximately 25,000 islanders, mainly fishermen. It is promoted
as a low-key tourist destination by the Malaysian government. Fishing, seafood
and other fishing-related products remained the major industries on the island.
The small island is a treasured location by both fishermen and scuba divers. Many travelers do a bit of sight seeing around the scenic island. Foreigners, are
especially attracted to the white sandy beaches and clear sea.
Check out the main attractions on this small island:1. Pangkor Town
2. Fishing Villages
3. Fu Lin Kong Temple
4. Kali Amman Temple
5. Batu Bersurat and Tiger Rock
6. Dutch Fort (Kota Belanda)
7. The Tombs
8. Tortoise Hill
9. Ikan bilis (anchovies) shops and factories
10. Shipbuilding and more

Enough of words! Let's take a quick tour around this small island.
Purchase your ferry ticket from the counter office at Lumut. Missed the ferry? No worries, there is a ferry departure to and from the Pangkor Jetty every 30 mins to 1 hour daily, from 6.30am - 8.30pm.
Hire a taxi for half a day tour, the friendly taxi driver will be more than happy to be your tour guide and bring you around the island 'must visit' spots and shops. But eventually you will find nothing much on shopping though, except for some souvenirs and local fish related food and products.
Family time at the beach side is a must, main activity at the island. But if you opt for more excitements, you can even hire a speedboat (of course with a driver :P) and go island hoping and snorkeling :)
How amazing and relaxing, enjoying the lovely and beautiful sunset in the evening.
A 3 days 2 nights short break is common and good enough if you are planning to visit Pulau Pangkor.
Day 1, rise and shine! 'dumb' all your stuff into your car and start driving to the Lumut Jetty. Buy your tickets and 'jump' onto the ferry heading to the Pangkor Jetty. After reaching the island, check in your hotel, do a bit of sight seeing and relaxing at areas nearby your hotel or resort.
Day 2, if you are an early bird, you can enjoy the sun rise at the beach side, followed by a big breakfast at your resort, then spend half a day rounding the island, and then back to the beach side to enjoy the beautiful senset with your loved ones.
Day 3, after breakfast, take your time to pack up your stuff, and check out in noon time then off to the Pangkor Jetty, bid a farewell to this beautiful place, and back to the Lumut Jetty.
If you like island hoping and snorkeling, you can always extend another night to enjoy your stay to the max.
